In this article from Forbes magazine, Tom Watson points out that OWS is having unintended good effects on the economy of New York City, since tourists are coming to see the protestors. Rather than attempting to evict them, Mayor Bloomberg should accept them as a permanent New York City feature, and actually take measures to accommodate and promote the group. An interesting opinion piece!
Is Occupy Wall Street actually benefiting New York City?

Hmmm. I would think that after a few years, the excitement would die down and the movement would generate less appeal. Especially, since the movement is spreading. I guess this speaks to the versatility of the movement and its ability to adapt to meet the needs of the people. If it continues to generate such popularity, I would think it speaks to the elasticity of the movement to continue to adapt to the political climate of the United States. However, this is something that would have to be analyzed in the future.
